The short story of Robert Depuis, a writer and director from Norway. He got his degree in animation from Volda College, followed up with a graduation as a animation director from The Danish Filmschool in Copenhagen. His graduation film called Exit was selected to compete in the Cinéfondation competition in Cannes film festival. His stories tend to lean towards the dark, often with lots of subtle humor. He loves to make narratives with a simple plot, mixed with lots of deeper layers, that tends to deliver a different point of view after each screening.
Then after years of working on several projects, Depuis disappeared from the creative world. Rumors says he needed a break from it all, and drove an Olympia ice resurfacer at his local ice rink in his hometown Drammen in Norway. But that is just a rumor.
In 2011 Depuis suddenly resurfaced, and directed 7 episode of a Norwegian children's cartoon series, called Elleville Elfrid (Ella Bella Bingo). At the moment, he is working on a stop motion short named Julenissens fall (The fall of Santa Claus).
